Young adult author Jeanne Bannon of Beyond Words has invited me to stop by her blog today to talk about how to find the perfect agent or editor for your book. As part of the post we'll be giving away a free critique of someone's query letter or first 250 pages.Jeanne's debut book, Invisible, is scheduled for release later this year by Solstice Publishing. Stay tuned, because in a few weeks Jeanne will be stopping by for a book review and author interview. And if you haven't had an opportunity to visit Jeanne's blog, you're in for a treat, as her posts are well written and filled with heart. Hope to see you there!
WHAT'S NEXT ON THE GUEST POST HORIZON
On Thursday YA fantasy/paranormal romance author Theresa Milstein of Substitue Teacher's Saga will be kicking off a series of guest posts on Bird's-eye View. She'll be talking about how to get blog comments to really work for you.
Aug. 6 I'm scheduled to appear on Laura Barnes' blog, Laura B Writer, as part of her new Saturdays series called Savvy Sensations. It will be a chance to get a little unplugged and talk about the more personal side of my writing career.
Aug. 8 I'm scheduled to appear on Marcie Bridges' blog, The Incredible Shrinking Woman. We'll be talking about whether it's wise to post online snippets from the book you're writing.
Then on Aug. 11 urban fantasy author Alexia Chamberlynn of The Life and Literary Pursuits of Alexia Chamberlynn will be stopping by Bird's-eye View to share secrets for staring a newsletter for your followers and readers.
Ending the month on a high note will be Marcie Bridges' Aug. 25 guest post about how to write young adult memoirs.
And keeping things hot through September will be Francine Howarth on Sept. 8 with tips for formatting your books on Kindle and Laura Barnes on Sept. 22 with her top 10 favorite tools for authors.

Hi Michelle...nice to meet you. I loved your post on Alexia's blog. It made me see Amazon differently. Being in India...I don't use Amazon much, but now I am going to get more savvy. Thanks for the great post.
I opened a seller account three years ago when I had my book published. Some were sold some time ago......yet I have not recieved any money, since opening the account I have changed laptops and the email address I thought was for Amazon they can't trace I have only ever used the one for them. They have completely sold out of my book except for a used on and I have not been notified of a sale.
I am at the start of my next poetry book but Amazon I am not sure about.
If I order a book for myself it's quickly delivered but as for selling it leaves a question mark.
Yvonne.
Rachna, it's so good to get to meet you to. Elizabeth (Mitty) Varadan speaks very highly of you!
Yvonne, I'm very sad to read you had such a disappointing experience. From what I understand, Amazon Seller Central is different from Amazon Connect, because with Seller Central you can offer products to customers besides books. There's CreateSpace for self-publishing. And then there's Amazon Connect to help promote you and your books whether your are traditionally or self-published.
I don't know enough about Seller Central to really advise you, but perhaps offering books through CreateSpace would be a better fit. For more information about receiving payment through Seller Central, you might want to visit https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/helpTab/Checkout-by-Amazon/Getting-Paid/Accessing-Funds-in-Seller-Central.
Wishing you a great day!
Sounds like you're going to be busy, Michelle! I'll have to stop by these guest posts and see what's what.
Hi Michelle. New follower here. Nice to you meet you. :D Looks like you have a lot of great things coming up. I Can't wait to read all these great posts.
Hah. I completely missed the link to your blog on Jeanne the first 10 times. Sigh. I am becoming my mother, I'm only a pair of polyester pants away.
Your schedule is so busy. It makes my head hurt thinking about it.
:)

Marlena, if you have time to stop by, I'd love to hear from you. More than half of these posts are a result of Deana Barnhart's Gearin' Up to Get an Agent blogfest. Deana's legacy is truly far reaching.
CherylAnne, welcome to Bird's-eye View, and thank you for being a new follower! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the upcoming posts.
Tirzah, one good thing about polyester pants is you don't have to iron them. That leaves more time for writing and blogging, even if it does ruin our chances for being the next supermodel. :)
Seems you're going to be extremely busy, Michelle! I'll be stopping by these guest posts, it sounds interesting.
Nas, I'm glad you're looking forward to the upcoming posts, and I'm excited that you're scheduled for Oct. 20; I've added you to the teaser list on the right side of the blog. Hope the rest of your weekend goes well!
Hey Michelle! Nice to meet you! You know I love meeting people on the blogosphere ;D
I love the idea of the giveaway (the critique), I'll help you spread the word with my friends that are querying.
And let me say that I just love cats!! If only my hubby wasn't allergic :(

Hi Michelle. Thanks for finding and following me. I really enjoyed your post on Alexia's blog. Lots of food for thought. You are one busy gal. I'll try to keep up with you! Thanks for all the great info.

Monica, welcome to Bird's-eye View, and thank you for being a new follower! You're the best for helping to get the word out about this critique giveaway.
Speaking of critique contests, in early August I'll officially kick off the 500 Followers Giveaway Challenge on Bird's-eye View. Every time I welcome another 100 followers, each person is automatically entered in a new drawing for items ranging from books to critiques of query letters to the full manuscript. This guest post helped inspire the idea!
That's so sad about your husband's allergies. If Marcelo and I ever found out we were allergic to our rescue kitties, we'd have to move out and give our home to the cats. Ummm, not like it's not already their home. :)
Tina, welcome to Bird's-eye View, and thank you very much for following! I've never known such a supportive community as blog followers, and their interest in doing guest posts just goes to further prove this theory. :)
Denise, aka L'Aussie, welcome to Bird's-eye View, and thank you very much for following! I'm so glad you enjoyed the post on Alexia's blog. But after seeing your blog, it is we that will be keeping up with you. :)
I'm super worried about the online snippets thing. You never know who could stop by and steal. Ugh. Can you tell I'm also paranoid? :P
Alleged Author, it's always better to be safe than sorry. The good news is the guest post will contain a suggestion that just might allow us authors to have our cake and eat it too. (I'll take a chocolate cake, please!)
Sounds like a great line up.
J.L., I'm so glad you were the one to kick off the guest-post series. :)
What an amazing line-up! You're doing such awesome things on your blog, Michelle. Rock on!
Alexia, with your new urban fantasy newsletter and Awesome Books page, you totally do the same!
