50 Pages, 50 Followers—and Two Guest Posts

Almost five years from the day I conceived the idea for The Underground Gift, an agent has requested a partial. And the same day Tamar Rydzinski of The Laura Dail Literary Agency asked for 50 pages, Bird’s-eye View reached 50 followers.

Wow! But that’s not all the excitement going on this weekend.

Author J.L. Campbell of The Character Depot invited me to stop by her blog to talk about when it’s time to share your work with others—from whom to share it with to how to react to the feedback you’re given, including those occasional zingers.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit Joy’s blog or her sister site, The Readers’ Suite, you’re in for a real treat, as her posts are filled with voice and excellent information. Hope to see you there!

P.S. Urban fantasy author Alexia Chamberlynn and I have put together a post about the role Amazon can play in revving up your marketing campaign. We’ll be featuring the details this Thursday on her site, The Life and Literary Pursuits of Alexia Chamberlynn. I’ll be sure to do a shout out when it goes live.

Karen: With your first book now out and the buzz that Following the Whispers been getting, that's what is cool!

Elizabeth: I so agree that both Alexia and Joy have excellent sites; to guest post on both the same week I heard from Tamar has me on a definite high. :)

Marlena: I always thought it was 98, but I'm about to change my mind. :) Hope you enjoy your visit to The Character Depot; Joy is phenomenal.

Congratulations on all of the good things going on. And thank you for your visit to my blog and the nice comment. I am now a follower of Bird's-eye View. It took me a bit to figure out who Joy is since I just knew her by J.L.

Arlee: Thank you very much for following Bird's-eye View. You have my apologies for calling J.L. Campbell "Joy." I have the same situation with Elizabeth Varadan, as I've always called her "Mitty." :)

Rosi: You've also played an important part of my being where and who I am today. Thank you!

Hi, Marcie,

I've announced this only on FB and Twitter, but yesterday Allie Maldonado of WiDo Publishing and to see a full for The Underground Gift. I was so honored, as I deeply respect this publishing house. And I can't think of a better new friend to celebrate with!
